For those of you who have been my followers from my previous 2 blogs, you know that I took a break from blogging to take care of my Dad. I'm so sad to share that Dad passed away on March 29, 2013. He did not give up without a fight, but it was his time. Dad was 92 - just short of his 93rd birthday (May 10).
We had an awesome caregiver, Tobie, who eventually moved in to help me take care of Dad, I still had little time to do my crafting or much of anything else besides going to work. My monthly classes came to a standstill and I ran out of energy every night after all was said and done and Dad was in bed. It was all worth it though. I was blessed with so many wonderful memories of my Dad that I hold dear to my heart.
Just wanted to share a collage I made to remember my Dad. He was truly my hero, who taught me so much and molded me into the person I am today. I am so thankful. I love you Dad! I'm so happy that you are now in peace and that you are reunited with Mom. I can see both of you holding hands and catching up!
Thank you for reading my post and letting me dedicate a post to my Dad...I will be posting some of my Easter projects and hopefully more current projects!
What a beautiful post dedicated to your dad. As I was reading it tears of sadness came down as well as happy ones. I am sad for you and your family that your dad is no longer here, but am happy that he is now at peace. You truly had a great parents. I only met your dad a few times, but from those times I can tell what a great and special man he was and how much you two mean to each other. Take care Teri!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute to Dad, Teri. He and Mom will always be watching over you and I know they are so proud of you. Dad sounded like such a special man and you took such good care of him.
ReplyDeleteAloha, Teri, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. You are truly an awesome daughter, and you will have so many happy memories of your Dad, and Mom, to cheer you in days to come. The many flowers in the yard and the birds coming to visit will remind you of the wonderful years you all shared. My Dad fed the birds in our yard, esp cardinals, so whenever we see a red one we know he's around in spirit. Malama pono, take care. Brenda
ReplyDeleteHello Teri
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss, this post reminded me of my father who passed 2 years ago. My dad was 82 and now he is with his wife who he really missed when she passed several years ago. So glad we got closer that last years of his life.
Take care
