My Summer Class - check out the sneak peek!

Finally!  It's taken me a little longer than I thought to put together my first class in months!  I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, but some days, I'm just not motivated!  I guess after a long day at work, I'm pooped!  I've been working extra hard at my job to catch up after years of horrible attendance and letting my work pile up.  I'm happy to say that I'm pretty caught up for the most part, yay!
Anyway, on to my class!  The class will happen on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. at my home.
Here is a sneak peek of the projects that we will be making!  I've planned this class around a beautiful and big stamp called Swallowtail.  We will be making four (4) fun and beautiful cards and 5 tags.  We will be using one of the Chalk Talk framelit dies for the tags that you're gonna just love!  This class will be featuring most of the new "in colors" which is growing on me now that I've used them.

As always, the class kits will be sold on a first come, first served basis by sending me an email.  Being that this is the first class in a long time, I'm not sure how many people want to come, or can come so I will be making 10 kits for now and will add on as I get RSVP's.  The cost of this class remains the same price of $20.00 and to hold your space, you will need to send in your payment to me.  Receiving your payment will also help me cover the cost of the materials since I haven't had a class in ages, I kind of need the help in paying for the supplies!  If you need my mailing address, please request it in your RSVP email since I don't want to post this information on my blog.  As usual, I will serve iced tea, water and brownies.  If you want to bring your own snack, please feel free to do so.  Remember to bring your own tool kit (adhesive of your choice, scissors and reading glasses if you need it, and whatever else you need to do crafting with).
If you are a demonstrator in my downline, the class fee is only $10.00.  This is one perk of being a demonstrator!
If you would like a kit "to go", the cost will be $30.  The cost will include shipping and all of the materials to make the projects, stamped and prepped!
I am looking forward to this class and seeing all of you!  Don't forget to RSVP to save your kit and space!

Swallowtail Butterfly cards

At first when I saw this HUGE butterfly stamp, I thought, no way was I going to buy this.  But I received a beautiful card from my friend and downline, Myra who used this stamp.  I knew that I HAD to get it and did!  I made a bunch of cards and matching envelopes using this stamp.  The photo here doesn't do justice because I stamped the butterfly twice and cut out a portion of it s that it flaps.  I'll try to see if I can get a good photo of it and re-post it so you know what I mean.  I love the fact that stamping in one color works well.  What do you think?
I am planning on making this card at one of my upcoming classes.  Speaking of classes...I'm working on a simple class in July.  If all goes well with my sample, we may be making a mini star book featuring a new stamp set and new in colors!  Are you curious?  The class won't be until July or August, but I will post sneak peeks when my samples are done!

A Simple Sympathy Card

Went to a funeral this past weekend for my Grand Aunt who was 100 years old!  Amazing longevity.  I rushed to make this sympathy card on Friday night because I let buying a card slip by me during the week.  I guess I forgot to buy one because I stayed home sick for a couple of days.  It's been a long time since I've gotten sick - sore throat, migraine type headache, coughing and was starting to lose my voice!  I guess something was telling me to slow down and rest, so I did.  I actually slept most of the first day I was home and I even read a book!  I love to read but it has been YEARS since I was able to sit down and read a book.  It felt really good to lie down and get lost in a book.  I read a book called MENTOR - The Kid & The CEO.  It was a really good motivating book.
Anyway, here is the card I whipped up.  I'm surprised that it turned out pretty good.  Used a retired SU stamp set called Close as a Memory.  It is really a classic stamp set to make Sympathy cards.
I'm working on a couple of projects using some of the new products from the Stampin' Up! brand new catalog!  If you don't have one, and want one, send me an email.  You can also view the catalog online at www.stampinup.net or click on the link on the catalog on my sidebar.  You can also get a list of the supplies used on the samples in the catalog by clicking on the supplies also on my sidebar.
Thanks for stopping by to visit me today.  I am starting to get the hang of posting again.  Bear with me!

A New Home for Shadow - well, almost...

Thanks for the comments on my request to find Shadow a home.  My co-workers grand daughter took him home, but Shadow, being so protective of his new owner, didn't want anyone to get near her, even family.  Needless to say, we are back trying to find a home for him.  We tried the Oahu SPCA,  a shelter that protects homeless animals without putting them down, but they didn't have a kennel for him, so we are back to where we began.  Hopefully, we will find a home for him.  We have faith that something with work out!
